Tell her you add up all the (known) sides and take 27 and subtract the sum of the known sides. That will show the (unknown) side. :)

it has to be 13 ,14,18,or 9
The answer is nine 5+5=10 so4+4=8then 8+10 = 18 finally 27-18= 9
