How many states are west of the Mississippi River? I count 24 staes west and 26 states east. Is this correct?

Right again.
What about Minnesota? The Mississippi River starts there -- so part of Minnesota is east and part of it is west of the river.
I think it is 26 what about Hawaii and Alaska
