How do you simplify this problem?

(x + 4y − 5z) − (x − 3y + 6z)

2 answers

(x + 4y − 5z) − (x − 3y + 6z)

7y - 11z
The problem can't be made any simpler.
The expression, however, can be simplified by collecting like terms:

x(1-1) + y(4+3) + z(-5-6)
0 + 7y - 11z
7y-11z

or, maybe it would be simpler to ditch the parens and then reorder the variable terms:

x+4y-5z-x+3y-6x
x-x +4y+3y -5z-6z
7y - 11z
