How do you factor this polynomial?

y^6 + 3y^3 – 10

2 answers

I personally would say x = y^3
then it is
x^2 + 3 x - 10
(x-5)(x+2)
now go back
(x^3-5)(x^3+2)
whoops
(x+5)(x-2)
(y^3+5)(y^3-2)
