how do i find the height of a triangle
the base is 18 inches, the angled side is 82 inches and it is a right triangle

i don't have the height would i use 82 the slanted side

height is measured as a perpendicular, not as a "slanted" height.
So use Pythagoras to find the height h
h^2 + 18^2 = 82^2
solve for h, then use bh/2
