How do you find the height of a triangle with one side that is 8cm another side is 6cm and the base is 10cm?

draw the triangle ABC, with AB=10 and AC=6 and CB=8, with CD the altitude from C to AB.

By similar triangles,

8/10 = AD/6
AD = 48/10 = 4.8
