Hi. I need some help with this.

When you stretch a balloon against your lips, is heat given off or absorbed? Which driving force is dominating this change, the tendency toward lower energy or the tendency toward disorder?

Heat is given off obviously but I don't know what to say for the second question. PLS help!

Is heat given off or absorbed by what; i.e, the lips or the balloon. Obviously one must be exothermic and one must be endothermic. Why not try it with a balloon and see?

That may be part of it. Also, you have done work on the balloon by distorting (stretching) it.
