Hi can you check my topic sentences?

Antigone and Creon argue as she fights for the gods and he fights for his beliefs, resulting in the division of the city.

Despite of the many warnings he receives, Creon’s discounting of prophecy produces destruction due to his arrogance.

Although the gods do not appreciate pride, or hubris, both Antigone and Creon portray arrogance which leads to their destruction.

Thesis: The destruction of Thebes is caused by Creon’s disregard of prophecy when he becomes too arrogant; this results in the Antigone’s rebellion which causes in a broader civil war.

This is not a thesis statement yet. You are simply telling the overall plot line.

Your thesis statement must include factual information (which you already have) plus your position/opinion/stance. Without your position on the topic, it isn't a true thesis statement. So think of this sentence as the angle you want to take on the topic and what you intend to prove by the end of your paper. (If your statement is simply factual, then there's nothing to prove!)

This is one of the very best places I've seen online to help students write good thesis statements. It shows you sentences that aren't thesis statements and how to turn each one into real thesis statements.

Once you get your thesis statement written, we can work on your topic sentences.
I think your topic sentences are okay, but you need to put more description in it. They need to flow so no one would get lost while reading. Make sure these facts are true and not what you think it is overall.
