Help with junior thesis idea?

ok so i have to write a junior thesis paper (8pgs) by next week and im not really sure what to write about. Its english class obviously and my teacher wants something related to that. lately we have been reading stories about woman and their roles so i was going to write about the role of woman but i need help picking a time period. for example " role of woman in the 1980's" i just don't know what time period i will be able to write most about. any ideas?

Some of the most interesting decades to me are the 1920s, 1940s, and 1950s.
