rational functions are the quotient of two polynomials.
My best choice would be just an algebraic function.
A few seconds with google (or possibly your textbook) will confirm this.
Hello! I've been having trouble deciding what type of function this equation is:
y=√x / x^2+8
There are a couple possbilties to pick from such as; power, root, rational, algebraic, polynomial by degree 2 and polynomial by degree 8.
I thought it would be considered a root function by looking at its graph, but apparently that's not the case? Could someone explain why it wouldn't be and what the answer is?
