Given this equation, 2Al + 3CuCl2 * 2H2O → 3Cu + 2AlCl3 + 6H2O

How do I calculate the theoretical yield of copper with the mass of Copper II chloride dihydrate as 2.40g and the mass of Copper as 1.40g?

Then the percentage yield?

convert those masses to moles.
You will need 3 moles of CrCl2 for every 2 moles of Al.
So, which will get used up first?
You will get the same moles of pure Cu as the number of moles of CuCl2 that were used.
oops--oobleck meant CuCl2 instead of CrCl2 but that should be obvious. Post your work if you get stuck and need more help.
