For the functions f and g find for

f(x)=x^2, g(x)=x+1
a)f(g(1))
b)g(f(1))
c)f(g(x))
d)g(f(x))
e)f(t)g(t)

1 answer

I will do b) and d) , you try the rest

b) f(x) = x^2 , g(x) = x+1

f(1) = 1
so g(1) = 1+1 = 2

d) we will do the same use the general equations

g(f(x)
= g(x^2)
= x^2 + 1

notice that g(g(1) = 1^1 + 1 = 2 , just as above
