Fingernail-polish remover is primarily acetone (C3H6O). How many acetone molecules are in a bottle of acetone with a volume of 315 mL?

(density of acetone = 0.788 g/cm3.)

I know how to get grams to the molecules once i get ml to grams. but im not sure how i use the density of acetone to convert the ml to grams

I tried setting up a conversion factor:

315ml x .788g/cm^3

but nothing crosses out

thanks

You can use the Density equation: Density=Mass/volume. They give you the volume and density so you need to manipulate the Density equation to solve for mass. That should give you the grams of acetone in the bottle of acetone and you can use that to solve for the acetone molecules.
