Find any relative max or min points of the given function
y=3x^2+12x+17
So far, I have:
y'=6x+12=0
2(3x+6)=0
x=-2
y=3x^2+12x+17
So far, I have:
y'=6x+12=0
2(3x+6)=0
x=-2

Ok, so you correctly found the x value for which that max/min occurs,
you are almost done.
You want the point, which consists of an x and a y value.
Don't you have the original equation telling you what y is ??
Btw, you must have recognized the equation as a parabola opening upwards.
So is your point a maximum or a minimum point ?
