distinguish between impulse and momentum calculate the momentum of(a) themoon of mas 7×10kg travelling with a velocity of1•05m5-1

(b)a tanker of mass 7×10kgtrAvelling of 4m5-5

1 answer

impulse is force integrated over time. If force is constant it is force * time
since force is rate of change of momentum, impulse and momentum have the same units.
F = change in momentum/change in time as time goes to zero
if mass is constant that is mass * change in velocity/change in time
or mass times acceleration
F = change in momentum/change in time
Force * change in time = change in momentum = impulse

for your problem which has typos just multiply the mass in kg by the speed in meters/sec to get the magnitude of the momentum
