Chemical changes are those in which a new chemical compound is formed. The word "new" means to me a different solid so I would go with chemical change for this.
Physical changes are those in which the initial substance is not changed. Changes in temperature, color, size, shape-----those are physical changes.
Determine whether the following are physical or chemical changes:
A new solid forms in a solution.
