Determine the mole fraction of acetone in a solution prepared by adding 0.456 kg of (CH3)2CO to 0.899 L of C4H8O.

Molar Mass (g/mol)
(CH3)2CO 58.05
C4H8O 72.12

Density (g/ml):
(CH3)2CO 0.7899
C4H8O 0.8892

Name/Formula:
acetone
(CH3)2CO
tetrahydrofuran
C4H8O

moles fraction acetone = moles aetone/(moles acetone + moles THF).

Convert g acetone to moles.
Convert L THF to grams and to moles.
Substitute into the above mole fraction formula.
figure the moles of acetone by 256/58.05

next, figure the moles of Ch4H8O
mass= 899ml*.8992g/ml
moles= mass/mole mass

Mole fraction acetone = molesacetone/total moles
