Good work so far. You have the hard part done.
Using the coefficients in the balanced equation, convert mole Zn to moles ZnS.
Same procedure, convert moles S to moles ZnS.
Probably the answer for moles ZnS will not agree which means one of them is wrong. In limiting reagent problems the correct answer is ALWAYS the smaller value and the reagent producing that value is the limiting reagent.
Then using the smaller value, convert that to grams ZnS. g = moles x molar mass.
Determine the mass of zinc sulphide,ZnS which is produced when 6.2 g of zinc and 4.5 g of sulphur are reacted.
This question is really confusing me, and I'm not sure where to start. I think I have to calculate the moles of each given reactant first in which case I have:
nZn = 0.095 mol
nS = 0.140 mol
But from here I'm confused. Do I determine the ratio? If so it's 1:1 now what??? I'm confused. Pls.help me.
