Metals come from the Earth, where they are found in rocks called ores. To get the metal out, people mine these ores and then process them to remove the metal. Some common metals include iron, aluminum, and copper.
One example of how metals are used based on their physical properties is aluminum. Aluminum is lightweight and doesn't rust, making it perfect for making things like soda cans and airplane parts. Because it’s easy to shape and strong for its weight, it helps keep things light without losing strength!
