Metals come from the Earth! They are found deep down in rocks and are usually in a form called ores. People mine these ores and bring them to the surface. Then, they use special processes to take the metal out of the rock.
One example of how we use metals is aluminum. Aluminum is really lightweight and doesn't rust easily, which makes it great for making things like soda cans and airplane parts. Because it’s so strong but still light, it helps make sure things can fly and be carried easily!
