It is important to maintain because the ocean ecosystems because it provides reefs that support a complex ecosystem of ocean organisms that live and help each other to survive. Virtually every phyla on Earth is represented in the ocean including vertebrate and invertebrates organisms. All creatures depend on producers that convert sunlight into a biomass. The imbalances in the ecosystem can devastate the delicate web of life on which humans depend. If this happens it will act like a dominoe effect and life as we know it will be gone.
