Could you please help?

The Christmas tree store has a parking lot that will hold 1000 vehicles. 2/5 of the parking spaces are for cars. When you went to buy your tree, there were 200 cars and some trucks in the parking lot. The parking lot was 3/4 full. How many trucks were in it?

Just think it through. You don't need algebra. There are 400 spaces for cars (2/5 of 1000), and 200 cars were in the car slots. If the entire lot was 3/4 full, there were a total of 750 vehicles. Since 200 were cars, 550 were trucks.
