I don't believe you want the answer to say "It's 8 o'clock in the AFTERNOON,"
because that is in the EVENING.
Now what time might you be in the Post Office? Son las ocho de la mañana, etc.

I think this says I'm in the mail and what hour is it-but that doesn't make sense. Please explain how I answer this.Or is this asking what time I get the mail?

Thank you for the explanation of el correo and the time. For the second question in the above paragraph could I answer it like this:
Estás en el cine. ¿Qué hora es? and I would answer it like this:
Son los siete de la noche.
