I've created an equation for you. What you do with it is input a distance as your x and the number of gallons for the x you put will come out as y.
y=(x/36)*4
y=(x/36)*4

looks like 4 gal : 36 miles = g gal : d miles
1/9 = g/d
d = 9g
for each of the unknown cases, just plug in
e.g. when d = 9 , g = ?
9 = 9g
g = 1
1/9 = g/d
d = 9g
for each of the unknown cases, just plug in

9 = 9g
g = 1

Henry2,
36mi/4gal = 9mi/1gal.
1. 9/1 = 9/g. g = gal. used.
3. 9/1 = d/7. d = miles traveled.
4. 9/1 = 81/g.
5. 9/1 = d/10.
1. 9/1 = 9/g. g = gal. used.
3. 9/1 = d/7. d = miles traveled.
4. 9/1 = 81/g.
5. 9/1 = d/10.
