Please give your opinion.

Appropriate cooking methods are
cost-efficient because:

1.food expansion is minimized.

2.waste due to undercooked food
is minimized.

3.nutrients are conserved.

would 1 be the best answer?

I am not sure about the meaning of "food expansion" in (1). but i do think nutrients can be conserved if the cooking methods is appropriate.For some veg/fruits, appropriate cooking may also increase the nutrients.for example cooking tomatoes.

There is only one reason to eat: Nutrients. There is only one reason to cook: Provide nutrients that are not destroyed, whilst making food palatable.

NO #2 is the best answer since the waste due to undercooked food is minimized so the rest of the food will feed off the heat and fully cook.
