The second one will be fine -- IF you put a period at the end of the sentence.

He wished they could become friends/OR could be friends/OR make friends?
The first and second mean about the same thing; the third means something different. What are you trying to say?

He had many powers such as the ability/OR like the ability to fly?
Comma after "powers," and then choose "such as..."

Human life is more important than the life of an animal OR an animal's life OR animal life????
Any one of the three will do.
