You got the directions right, but
36,49 are inconsistent

These seven (7) differ from each by 10.
For example, 1 km = 10 hm = 100 dkm = 1000 m = 10,000 dm = 100,000 cm = 1,000,000 mm. Just remember this about the decimal point.
Moving from top to bottom you move the decimal point to the right. Moving from bottom to top you move the decimal point to the left. How many places? Just count the number of units you move. That is, going from mm to m you move to the left (going UP) and you count 1 to get to cm, another 1 to get to dm and another 1 to get to m. That's 3 places so 1 mm = 0.001 m.
For the measurements outside what I wrote above; i.e., mega is above kilo by 3 places. micro is below milli by 3 places
