Can someone help me with these two equations, I need to solve them by completing the square, I know the answers, (Number 1 is -11.56, 1.56, and number 2 is -10.35, 1.35) I just can’t remember how to get those numbers again, I have so much math on my paper I am confused. :D

1. X^2 + 10x = 18
2. X^2 + 9x – 14 = 0

1 answer

x^2 + 10x = 18
x^2 + 10x + 25 = 18+25
(x+5)^2 = 43
x+5 = ±√43
x = -5±√43

work the other in like wise.
