Calculate:what is the density of a metal block that has a mass of 750 grams and a volume of 55 cubic centimeters?

5 answers

density= 750/55 g/cm^3
Density= Mass divided by Volume.
This must be memorized for science.
I'm sure you can work the rest for yourself.
D=m/v
D=750/55
D=13.63
D=13.6 (rounded)
Although many regents exams provide a resource sheet with this equation and many others, Brian is absolutely right in that you should memorize this equation.
Mercury
Mercury is a chemical element with the symbol Hg and atomic number 80. It is a silvery-white metal that is liquid at room temperature and is commonly known as quicksilver. Mercury is the only metallic element that is liquid at standard conditions for temperature and pressure. It is a very dense and highly toxic metal that can cause severe health problems if ingested or inhaled. Mercury has many industrial uses, including in thermometers, fluorescent lights, and dental fillings, but these uses have decreased in recent years due to environmental and health concerns.
