We can use a proportion. Cross multiply and solve for c.
2.5/1 = c/15
c = 37.50
At Frugal Foods a loaf of bread cost about $1 in 1980. In 2013, the loaf of bread cost $2.50.
1.A ratio is a comparison of two amounts by division. What is the ratio of the cost of a loaf of bread in 2013 to the cost in 1980? *$2.50/1
2.Assuming the price of clothing increased at the same rate, if the cost of jeans at Cobb’s Corner was $15 in 1980, what would the cost of the jeans be in 2013?

is it $3.75 because the unit rate is $2.50/1 and to get 10 you multiply the denominator, 1, by 15 and what u do to the bottom you do to the other so $2.50*15=37.5 and it equals 37.5/10 which is 3.75
It can't be $3.75 because the cost is much more in 2013 than it was in 1980.
