Is there a way to find out more about the Roman Catholic Church's positions concerning issues along the continuum of sex/gender/sexuality/sexual orientation?

Could somebody point me in the correct direction as to obtaining background about the Arrow War(that is the Second Opium War that occured during the mid to late 1850's)?
