Sucrose is a non-reducing sugar; therefore, it will not work with Benedict's reagent. None of the tests listed is good to distinguish between the two and there are others that work much better. However, of those listed IF YOU WILL DISSOLVE SOME OF EACH IN WATER, HEAT THE WATER FOR A FEW MINUTES, THE SUCROSE WILL BREAK DOWN INTO FRUCTOSE AND GLUCOSE BOTH OF THOSE ARE REDUCING SUGARS AND WILL GIVE A POSITIVE TEST WITH BENEDICT'S SOLUTION.
