I am assuming the time of impact is the time to strike ground.
Given: Vo = 88Ft/s @ 35 Deg. = Initial velocity.
Xo = 88*cos35 = 72.1 Ft/s = Hor. comp.
Yo = 88*sin35 = 50.5 Ft/s = Ver. comp.
Tr = (Y-Yo)g = (0-50.5)/ -32 = 1.58 s =
Rise time.
Tf = Tr = 1.58 s. = Fall time.
Tr + Tf = 1.58 + 1.58 = 3.16 s. = Time
in flight or time of impact.
A projectile is fired with an initial velocity of 88 ft/sec at an angle of 35° to the horizontal. Neglecting air resistance, what is the time of impact? I just can't figure it out.
