a) convert mol of N2 into mol of NH3 by the mole ratio
(look at the balanced equation for the coefficients of NH3 and NH2)
convert mol of NH3 to grams of NH3 by multiplying by the molar mass of NH3
(2.84mol of N2)(__mol NH3/__mol N2)(__g NH3/1mol NH3)
Try doing the other one on your own. Post your work if you need help! The key to doing these kind of the problems is UNITS. Notice all the units cancel out except for g of NH3!
a)How many grams of NH3 can be produced from 2.84mol of N2.
b)How many grams of H2 are needed to produce 14.86g of NH3?
balanced equation: 3H2+N2->2HN3
