A horse breeder has a black horse named Luca and he isn't certain about the horse's genetics. A purebred horse will be worth much more than a hybrid horse so he compiled all the information about the Luca and Luca's parents before approaching you.
- Black is the dominate color for this breed of horse
- White is the recessive color for this breed of horse
- Luca's mother was a heterozygous black horse
- Luca's father was one of three horses. A homozygous black male, a heterozygous black male, or a homozygous white male
- In this breed of horse, color follows the rules of complete dominate.
Help the famer find a way to prove Luca's genetics. In your proof provide punnet square or pedigree charts.
If I did it correctly so far, if Luca's father was a homozygous black male, the genotypic is BB 2:4 and Bb 2:4. Heterozygous black male BB 1:4 Bb 2:4 bb 1:4. Homozygous white male Bb 2:4 bb 2:4. B=Black b=white The bb would not matter since Luca is a black horse. How would I figure out if Luca has BB or Bb?
