A current of 7.50 amperes flows through an air conditioner. If the volyage in the wall outlet is 110 volts, what is the resistance in the air conditioner?

Assuming voltage and current are in phase,
effective resistance=110/7.50
Your teacher's use of resistance is really poor. Work is being done on the fluid in the compressor, not being done on resistance. When a motor turns, power is used in not resistance heating, but in delivering a mechanical work to some device. Resistance is a poor term to describe as the electrical load.
