A car of mass 200g moving at 15.0m/s is accelerated to 25.0m/s in a time of 10.0 seconds determine the accelerating force and calculate the work done on the body

1 answer

Mass = 200kg?
Vo = 15 m/s.
V = 25 m/s.
t = 10 s.

a = (V-Vo)/t = (25-15)/10 = 1 m/s^2.

F = m*a = 200 * 1 = 200 N.

d = Vo*t + 0.5g*t^2=15*10 + 4.9*10^2 =
640 m.

W = F*d = 200 * 640 = 128,000 Joules.
