A bicyclist pedaled at 10 m/s (meters per second) in 20 seconds. What distance was traveled?

Isn't it 10 * 20?
I don't understand. It says that distance dosent depend on direction since it is a scalar. For example, one problem said that suppose you walk 20 meters down the + x axis and turn around and walk 10 meters down the - x axis, what is the distance? The answer became 30 meters.
This question is asking for distance, not displacement

d=vt=200m
The question states itself, "what was the distance traveled?", thanks for answering though.
Bob and I both told you the distance traveled >> 200 meters.
ummmmm ok then i guess ill leave it to that then
