I am alittle confused but I did attempt the question. How did I do?

Solve
1/3y+5/12=2/y
first I brought the y over to the other side.Mult both sides by 3/1 getting
5/12=6y/y
5/12=5y
now divide each side by 1/5
1/12=y
I this correct? If not can you lead me in the correct direction of what I need to do.
Thanks

1/3y +5/12 = 2/y

12y((1/3y) + 12y (5/12) = 12y(2/y)
4 + 5y = 24
5y = 20

5y/5 = 20/4
y = 4
How did you get the 12y or where did the 12y come from?
thanks for helping me
