What do you do to check if a number is rational or irrational? In the explanation use a rational and irrational number.

if it's an integer, it's obviously rational: 3,-10
if it's a terminating decimal, it's obviously rational 12.3978
If it's a repeating decimal, it's rational:
12.27<u>8963</u> = 12.27 + 8963/1000000
Otherwise it's irrational:
√2 = 1.41421356...
