what is the shift of the mood and setting of the story
thanx alot:-) i didn't someone was going to read the story. i need someones point of view cuz i doing a huge essay and what i wrote is too short. thanx again ;-)
i think like you said "after being handed money instead of a present, and being referred to as my pet." is wrong becuz i rather get money than a present but everyone has their own taste. thanx again :-)
yeah but the whole story too much to do with the class differences as percieved through both the mother and the girls eyes. with the rich folks party and the social/ecomical different worlds they're from-
hope it helps- i'd take the money over a yo-yo too...
right...who wouldn't take money over a yo-yo unless ur really rich...knowing the people in this world.
well, it seems like the shift in the mood would be the girl's going from anticipation/excitement for the party. then as the party is going on the girl gets to feel accepted, in spite of all her mother said about them. and finally, after being handed money instead of a present, and being referred to as my pet, dissappointment. after all, her mother did say that all she is to them is the maid's daughter. i hope it helps... don't know if it will...
