A 4x7 rectangle can be rotated about the long side to generate a cylinder. It also can be rotated about the short side to generate a cylinder. Find the lateral area and surface area of the 2 cylinders .

long side: r=4 and h=7, so
ends: πr^2 = 16π
lateral: 2πrh = 56π
similarly for short side, where r=7 and h=4
ends: πr^2 = 16π
