There are 360 people at a museum opening. Half of the people are museum supporters, 3/8 are artists, and the rest are museum employees. How many people are artists ?

To do this, just multiply the total number of people by the fraction which are artists:
360*3/8 = 135

(360/1) * (3/8)
Multiply the numerators. Then multiply the denominators.
(360/1) * (3/8) = 1,080/8 = 135
