Calculate the amount of expansion occurring when a steel rail 920.000 meters in length is heated from -10.000 to 410.000 degrees Celsius.
ANS = m
Steel = 12 * 10 ^-6
= 0.000012
Change in length
= Original length * Coefficient of linear expansion * Temperature rise.

= 920m * 0.000012 * 420
ANS = 4.636m
Please Check, Thank you.

It looks ok to me but I think you should round the answer to the correct number of significant figures.
