ok beginning algebra, eh?
so anyway...
if 162 is the games they played in total
then,
let "x" be the number of games lost
and "2x - 33" be the number games won
so...we know that the total wins plus the total losses must equal total games played...
now we are given this...
x + (2x - 33) = 162
then, solve for "x"
3x = 195
x = 65
so that means the total games lost is 65 games BUT the total games won is given by this....
2x - 33 = (games won)
so just plug in the numbers...
2(65) - 33 = 97
so this means the rays had 97 wins and 65 losses
