The width of a swimming pool is 18.5 ft, and the length is 10.75 ft. What is the ratio of length to width as ratio of whole number. Please help me figure this out.

Length/Width =
= 10.75/18.5
= 1075/1850

But this is not in a ratio to a whole number. I was thinking more of 9/5... Thanks though

The problem asked for the ratio of length to width, with the length being the smaller of the two numbers. Therefore, the ratio would have to be less than one. If you are allowed to round off, then the nearest whole number ratio would be one. If you want to reduce the fraction to the smallest denominator it would be 43/74.
