Question
1)An electron moved from point A to point B along an equipotential surface.
a)the eclectron performs work in moving from point A to point B
b)Work is required to move the electron from point A to point B
c)Work is both required and performed in moving the electron from point A to point B
d)no work is required to move the electron from point A to point B
Isn't the answer d) because the electron is moving along the surface?
2)A proton is moved from point A to point B along an equipotential surface.
a)the proton's potential energy increases as it moves from point A to point B
b)the proton's potential energy decreases as it moves from point A to point B
c)the proton's potential energy stays constant as it moves from point A to point B
c) since there's no work involved (W=change in PE)
3)2)A neutron is moved from point A to point B along an equipotential surface.
a)the neutron's potential energy increases as it moves from point A to point B
b)the neutron's potential energy decreases as it moves from point A to point B
c)the force exerted on the neutron changes as it moves from point A to point B
d)none of the above
I think it's either d) or c) but i'm not sure.

1 and 2 right on
in 3, there is no force on the neutron, therefore none of the above.

The neutron takes no work, nor PE is gained/lost in an electric field, as there is no force.
On the first two, you are correct.
