In calculating the force of gravity between two objects, if the distance between the objects increased 4 times, the force of gravity will.
A)decrease by 1/16
B)increase by 1/4
C)decrease by 1/4
D)decrease by 4 times
after what I gathered it has to increase but I thought by 4 but that's not a choice so its B, increase by 1/4

The force of attraction between two bodies varies inversely with the square of the distance. If the distance is increased 4 times, the force of attraction between the two bodies decreases by 1/4^2.
