Please help.

What is the difference 5x-2/4 x - x - 2/4x

A.) 1
B.) X-1/X
C.) 0
D.) 3/2

none of the above, as far as I can tell. If both of the fractions are interpreted as 2/(4x), then we have 4x - 1/x, but that's as close as I can get.

If one of the fractions is (as appears from the spacing) (2/4)x and the other is 2/(4x) then it's even less like any of the answers.

Ahh. If we take it as
(5x-2)/(4x) - (x-2)/(4x)
then we get
(4x)/(4x) = 1


How about using some parentheses so we can be sure of the intended values?
