I just cannot seem to get these two problems. Any help is greatly appreciated.

xy= 4
5x − y + 19= 0
and
y^2 − 4x^2 = 7
9y^2 + 16x^2 = 323

Well, in the second equation of the first pair, solve for y in terms of x. Now take that value of y and substitute it in the first equation of the first pair. Simply that equation and solve for x
